Joseph Anton “Jan” Bengzon, MA, RPSy brings a rich and diverse professional background to his work in psychotherapy, executive coaching, and mental health program consulting. He holds an AB in Interdisciplinary Studies from Ateneo de Manila University, an MBA from Fordham University, and a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Ateneo, along with a Certificate in Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy from the Animal-Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado.

Jan’s unique path has integrated corporate leadership and psychological expertise, allowing him to support working-age adults in transition, guide executives toward clarity and resilience, and consult on organizational mental health strategies. His research on developing an Animal-Assisted Counseling manual for the Loyola Schools Office of Guidance and Counseling reflects his commitment to evidence-based, innovative care.

Over a four-decade career, Jan has held leadership roles across sectors—from retail at Macy’s New York to executive posts at Ayala Land and Ayala Corporation, where he led teams in marketing, public affairs, corporate planning and employee engagement. His credentials include training in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, Positive Psychology, Dog Emotion and Cognition, and the Science of Well-Being from institutions like Yale, Duke, and UNC Chapel Hill.

Jan is currently finalizing a case study on Animal-Assisted Psychotherapy as applied within the NMT framework. Grounded in both business acumen and therapeutic insight, he brings a rare and valuable perspective to the evolving landscape of mental health and organizational care.
